Where is this class held?

This is a live, project-based, online class led by an experienced eLearning developer, Certified Master Trainer (CMT), Certified Technical Trainer (CTT), and Certified Online Training Professional (COTP). Just like an onsite class, this online class is fully interactive and engaging. The difference between an online and onsite class? No travel! You can participate in an online class from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Many of our students choose to stay home from work on these training days, some never even changing out of their slippers! Students can speak with and hear from the instructor and other participants throughout the course as they work in real-time to complete activities.

Topics covered include, but not limited to:

Getting Started with iSpring Suite

Spring Suite is an eLearning development companion for Microsoft PowerPoint. You access the tools that comprise the iSpring Suite two ways: via the iSpring Suite tab on the PowerPoint Ribbon or start iSpring Suite’s Quick Start via the Windows Start menu. During this module you’ll get introduced to iSpring Suite and its tools/interface.

  • Explore an Existing PowerPoint Presentation
  • Publish Content to the iSpring Cloud
  • Insert and Resize a Character
  • Insert a Background
  • Insert Template Slides

Audio

Audio enhances the learner experience. During this module, you’ll learn to record, import, and edit audio. You’ll also learn the importance of voiceover scripts and running rehearsals.

  • Add Notes to Serve as Voiceover Audio
  • Record Voiceover Audio
  • Import and Review an Audio File
  • Add Trim Audio
  • Change Slide Timing
  • Silence Audio
  • Adjust Audio Volume

Videos, Pictures, and Syncing Animations

iSpring Suite supports several types of video and picture formats. When adding videos to a presentation, you can elect to import the video directly onto a slide or have the video appear on the sidebar. If you want the video to appear directly on a slide, you use PowerPoint’s video handling capabilities. If you want the video to appear on the sidebar, you use iSpring’s Manage Narration dialog box and, using the Player dialog box, enable the sidebar.

When it comes to pictures, once an image has been imported onto a slide, it can be manipulated like any PowerPoint image (you can resize images, crop them, group them, animate them, re-color them, etc.). And you can animate just about anything in PowerPoint. After you’ve added the animations, you can use iSpring to control when the animations occur, object-by-object and slide-by-slide.

  • Add a Video to the Sidebar
  • Insert a Video onto a Slide
  • Insert a Picture onto a Slide
  • Animate a Slide Object
  • Synchronize Animations

Interactivity and Screen Recordings

Interactions, also referred to as iSpring Visuals, allow you to quickly insert interactive objects onto a slide. iSpring Suite comes with a wide range of Interactions that can display information in Pyramids, Glossaries, or as Processes.

Dialog Simulations combine the concept of Characters and Backgrounds but take both to a new level. Generally speaking, in a Dialog Simulation you create scenes with one or more clickable items. Depending upon what the learner clicks, they’ll jump to a different scene. During the activities in this module, you’ll create a medical scenario that will help you determine which lab tests to run when presented with a patient displaying specific symptoms.

You can use iSpring Suite to record just about anything you can do on your computer. When the recording process is finished, you end up with a single video demonstrating everything you have done during the recording process. A video recording is ideal if you are trying to create an eLearning lesson demonstrating complex mouse actions (like those that would be required when drawing a shape in an image-editing application). During this module, you’ll practice and record a software demonstration.

  • Insert a Labeled Graphic Interaction
  • Create a Dialog Simulation
  • Link Scenes
  • Add Images to Scenes
  • Review a Recording Script
  • Rehearse a Script
  • Create a Screen Recording

Quizzing

The iSpring QuizMaker includes a wonderful array of Question Types including Multiple Choice, True/False, Matching, Fill in the blank, Hotspot, and even Drag Drop. During the activities in this module, you’ll get a chance to add a quiz, add questions, and set up the quiz results slide.

  • Add a Quiz
  • Insert a Graded Question
  • Format a Question Slide
  • Customize the Quiz Results Slide
  • Hide a Slide
  • Create a Branch

Publishing

We get asked this great question a lot: “What do learners need to access content created with iSpring Suite?” Beyond access to your content, all learners need to view your finished content is for you to Publish the project, store the published assets in an accessible location (a Web server, a video streaming server, or a Learning Management System). Learners do NOT need to own PowerPoint nor iSpring Suite. Instead, if they have access to your content, they use a free web browser and device that can view HTML5 and videos. Most modern desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smart phones come with browsers and are fully capable for viewing HTML5 and/or videos. All you need to do is Publish your project and upload to an appropriate location.

  • Add a Presenter
  • Customize the Player
  • Publish as HTML5
  • Publish for an LMS
  • Create a Backup Copy of an iSpring Project
